PFRETZSCHNER *SOLD*

There is so much to say about this bow, it is the first H.R. Pfretzschner bow I have owned and I now understand why they are so sought after! This bow was made around 1920 and produces a huge mature tone and can complete even the most demanding bowings with ease. With this bow you will get a brilliant, bold, and unmistakably soloist sound.
Weight: 59 Grams

SARASATE LITE

We have here another "Sarasate" bow by the J.T. Lamy shop. With the "Sarasate" bows you get an amazingly consistent quality and while this one is a bit on the light side, it certainly can handle all the heavy tasks such as fortissimo chords and brilliant 4th string work. Any bowing that requires bounce is a breeze with this bow.
Weight: 56.5 Grams

SARASATE

The J.T. Lamy "Sarasate" bows are of a very consistent high quality. This beautiful bow produces a very bright and warm sound.
Weight: 59.5 Grams

AUGUST RAU for WEICHOLD ca1915

This brilliant bow made for Richard Weichold around 1915 is an absolutely splendid example of what makes Weichold's bows so wanted. This bow is very similar to the Pfretzschner bow we have for sale. The sound you get from this bow is huge, bold, noble, and clear. All bowing techniques are produced with the greatest of ease.
Weight: 59 Grams

WEICHOLD 1880

This is a nice early example of a bow made for the shop of Richard Weichold in 1880. With this bow you get a clear and bright sound.
Weight: 57 Grams

SARASATE MAITRE

We have here a "Sarasate Maitre" bow by the J.T. Lamy shop. This is a brilliant bow certainly crafted with a "Maitre" in mind! Any bowing that requires bounce is a breeze with this bow, especially anything requiring a bounce or a burst of power. This bow is for a professional musician.

Weight: 62Grams

DURRO ARTIST

The Durro shop made bows and violins for the New York dealer "Buegeleisen & Jacobson" in the 1920's. This particular bow is a beautiful example of a master bow that certainly lives up to the Durro motto "Durro Gives Satisfaction". This Durro "Artist" bow is made from the finest cut of pernambuco I have ever seen, note the very beautiful flaming. This bow does everything and is a true "Artist" bow. Note the minor chipping at the frog and also the ferule has been replaced.
Weight: 62 Grams

WILLY ROTH

With this bow you will get a nice clear sound with with plenty of strength. I unfortunately do not know too much about Willy Roth but I do know that this bow was made in Germany around 1920. You can now only see Will(y) stamped on the frog but I guarantee that it is by Willy Roth.
Weight: 59 Grams

GRANDINI

This "Grandini" violin bow was made by the J.T. Lamy shop in the 1930's and produces a sweet full sound. Minor frog bumps and dings.
Weight: 57.5 Grams

LAMY

This J.T. Lamy shop bow is a bit on the heavy side and I estimate that it was made in the 1930's. With this bow you get a strong, full-bodied, and powerful sound. Even at 64.5 grams, the bow will produce a nice spicatto without much effort...not the prettiest of bows as you can see...the beauty is definitely in the sound!
Weight: 64.5 Grams

PFRETZSCHNER SHOP ca1930

Here is a great bow made by the Pfretzschner shop around 1930. The bow is not stamped with an individual maker but the frog has the crest on one side and "Made in Germany" on the other. This beautiful pernambuco bow is for a professional musician. This bow is a bit on the heavy side but sure does not feel like it, stacatto is especially breezy with this bow.
Weight: 62 Grams
